The concept of the angel Metatron is elucidated in the writings of the holy Ari, of blessed memory, where his name is divided into two parts: "ט"ט" (Tet-Tet) and "רמון" (Rimon). This division is explained in the Etz Chaim (Tree of Life), Gate 18, Chapter 7.

"Know that Metatron has the gematria (numerical value) of 314, which corresponds to 'שדי' (Shaddai), representing the Yesod (Foundation) Sefirah. These are the secrets of the 'ט"ט' part of Metatron. The remaining letters form 'רמון', whose gematria is 296, which is associated with the upper Chayot (living creatures) in the world of Yetzirah (Formation), as explained in Ezekiel 1:14, 'And the living creatures ran and returned.' This corresponds to the concept of 'Ratzoh Vashov' (running and returning), where 'Ratzoh' has the same gematria as 'Vashov', both being 314, the gematria of Metatron.

The angel Metatron is connected to the Chayot, as explained in the Zohar, Parashat Pinchas (Zohar, Pinchas 226b), where it states: 'The Holy One, blessed be He, said to the heavenly hosts: Whoever prays, whether he is a mighty one, a wise one, or a wealthy one, if he prays with the proper intention, his prayer will be accepted. But if not, his prayer will not enter this chamber until it is marked with the signs of humility.' This is further explained in the context of the mitzvah of tzitzit (fringes), specifically the blue thread (techelet), which is likened to the sky, as it is written in Isaiah 11:6, 'And a little child shall lead them.'

The techelet in the tzitzit is a precise representation of Metatron, as the blue of the tzitzit corresponds to the blue of the sky, which is a reflection of the divine throne. The small tallit (prayer shawl) that covers the head and most of the body is linked to the concept of the four Chayot, as the Zohar teaches that the sacred square, which is the fourfold Chayot, awakens the flow of divine abundance.

Thus, the pomegranate, as mentioned above, is part of the secret of the angel Metatron, intricately connected to the tallit and tzitzit. Therefore, it is appropriate to carry a pomegranate for their sacred work, as it is aligned with the teachings of the Zohar, where the tallit corresponds to the four Chayot, and the sacred square stimulates the flow of divine abundance.
